Digital and Hands On Thematic Unit Bundle

This bundle includes two downloads: Digital Themed Lesson Plans for Preschool and Early Intervention and Hands On Thematic Units for Early Intervention. Each also comes with a FREE lesson planner so you can map out your therapy sessions.

The Digital Themed Lesson Plans for Preschool and EI include a standard template for planning telepractice sessions with toddlers that balances direct intervention with parent coaching. It includes 20 themed lesson plans that follow the following format:

1. Read a book
2. Watch a video
3. Use a toy/app/website to elicit language
4. Parent coaching

The Hands On Thematic Units for Early Intervention include themes for an entire year! Each month has up to four weekly themes. Each month's theme has recommended toys, books, songs, and vocabulary. Send the pictures of suggested toys to help empower your families.

These themed units were created by two speech-language pathologists, Adrienne Wallace and Wendy Avolio. Adrienne has developed themed lesson plans for toddlers that include a combination of digital materials and traditional toys, while Wendy bases her thematic units solely on physical toys and books. They have collaborated to share their successful evidence-based approach to promoting communication skills. Their themes include relevant vocabulary to support both professionals and families in eliciting receptive and expressive language skills.
